Since 1996, Athens Roofing has been providing dependable residential and commercial roofing services to homeowners and businesses in the Athens and Northeast Georgia area. As one of the region’s leading roofing companies, Athens Roofing has built a solid reputation by focusing on complete customer satisfaction. Today, Athens Roofing works throughout the region to service a wide variety of roofing needs.
Athens Roofing was founded by Tom Crum. Tom, a native Athenian, focused his work on installing metal roofing products. After 6 years, Tom sold the business to its current owner Chris Lutz and moved to the high desert of central Oregon where it rarely rains. He now goes fishing almost every day.
Having known and worked with Tom for many years, Chris Lutz stepped in as owner of Athens Roofing in the fall of 2003. Expanding on Athens Roofing's reputation as the premier installer of metal roofing products in North East Georgia, Chris added asphalt shingle products and single ply roofing systems to the company's catalog of services.
In addition to running Athens Roofing, Chris also owns and operates the Roots Farm, a thirteen acre organic farm located in Winterville. You may recognize him from his time spent running the farm's stand at the Athens Farmers Market on Saturdays. An honors graduate of the University of Georgia, Chris is proud to have called Athens home for home for over 25 years.
Chris and his wife, Tara Faragoza, are the proudest parents of two children: Antonia and Jude. They would be thrilled for the youngsters to take an interest in either of the family businesses, farming or roofing.
In 2012 Athens Roofing brought on Barth Jackson as our new Sales and Commercial Division Manager. Barth brings with him a wealth of commercial roofing experience he has earned over the last decade while managing high profile projects throughout the Southeast.
